CBC News: Bush says Iraqi co-operation meaningless: "U.S. President George W. Bush has dismissed Iraq's co-operation as meaningless.
He told a political rally in Louisiana the issue is not Iraq's co-operation with the UN or what the inspectors find. He said the issue is what weapons Iraq really has and that if Saddam says he has no weapons of mass destruction, he's lying." If she floats she's a witch. The US shows its true colours: they will use the UN when it's convenient for them. Otherwise, the one super power is the policeman of the world.

Multimodal user interfaces 'Several folks made the point that we process sonic information using a different part of the brain than we use to process visual information. One participant described a system that translated server logs into birdsong. When the servers were healthy, there was a pleasant ambience of happy birds -- a baseline pattern that supplied information without requiring conscious attention. As the servers became stressed the birds became more agitated.'

Yikes! A call from Madhu at Sax Inc. indicates I am a victim of identity theft. Somebody has opened an account at a Mississippi store (McCrae's?) using, I think, information from a Carson Pirie Scott account of mine. Both stores are owned by Sax. I am calling the credit beaureaus now to attach a fraud alert to my file. Found some good info on what to do from the FTC. Also a government site on identity theft. [On The Mark]

The Boston Globe follows up on the last stand of Massachusetts and West Virginia in the
Microsoft monopoly trial, quoting Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly:
"Microsoft is powerful and has unlimited resources and from the beginning has been able to wear down and crush anyone who gets in their way," he said. Once it reached a more amiable agreement with the US Justice Department last year, Reilly said, Microsoft's "goal was to split the states and wear them down one by one, and they've accomplished that goal," he said. "But it's important that someone stays the course, and Massachusetts will, and bring this to a conclusion."
