US right targets anti-war mother
Rightwing criticism of a bereaved mother camped outside President Bush's Texas ranch intensifies.
[Via Guardian Unlimited World Latest] "Her presence has become a growing problem for the White House, which does not wish to seem heartless to a bereaved mother, but does not wish to be seen giving in to a demand from anti-war protesters."

Apple Mighty Mouse Review
I ordered Apple's new "Mighty Mouse" (buy | info) on the day it was announced, due both to my "standing policy of ordering everything that Apple produces" and because I'm a well-known mouseaholic. [snip]
The nicest thing about the Mighty Mouse is that it took me about 5 minutes to get used to, and then it just felt natural... I'm scrolling, clicking, and even sometimes squeezing like there's no tomorrow. If you're a Mac user, get one.

CBC operating on autopilot
A prolonged dispute could be particularly damaging to CBC Radio. In recent years, the radio networks have enjoyed a new ratings high, according to recent results compiled by the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement. Gizmo – A free phone for your computer
An internet telephone. As simple as an instant messenger. Now you’re talking. I missed this one until today. Looks like Skype has some competition. I like the fact that the screenshots are of OS X. Still in beta. High eye candy factor. I wonder how the sound quality is. This was a key factor in the hype surround Skype when it first launched though I have been underwhelmed thus far. Most of my calls have been to land lines in Mexico so that may be a factor. Call in numbers are UK and US only so nothing of interest for me. Skype has Call in available in more countries but I'm only interested in Canada and Mexico at this point so Skype is no help here either. Call out rates are higher than Skype and both are higher than the best phone cards I've found.

The RSS Crisis | Steve Gillmor's Inforouter
When you look at the people who are upset about the RSS Crisis, as Richard MacManus does here, you find good, but confused, people. It's not RSS they're confused about, it's how to get the money. And the ironic thing about it is that if they really wanted to solve the problem, they'd work it out and set up a common feed with one simple answer. Oh wait, that won't work. Dave Winer already did that.

The Globe and Mail: Lockout ravages the CBC
In Gaza, Adrienne Arsenault, CBC Television's Middle East bureau chief, was preparing to cover the issuing of eviction notices to about 8,500 Israeli settlers. Instead, she was left sitting in the shade at the fractious settlement of Neve Dekalim as police and protesters faced off, holding up a little "Locked out by CBC management" sign that she had drawn on her notepad with black ink.
