VOSGAMES - Boom Recorder
Boom Recorder is for the sound engineer who wants to record audio at a live event or on a film set. It was specificaly designed to be easy to use and record multiple channels in high resolution.
OS X Tiger. What's interesting to me is that it records timecode input and has fields for logging take numbers. I want to know more so I've downloaded the demo.

Mobile Mail Notifications
I'm a mobile monkey, I admit it. I like getting my email on my phone, but it has no filtering capabilities. My Macs, however, do. I use a PowerBook for my main system and have a Mac Mini for a home server. It occurred to me that I only really need the mail on my phone when I'm away from home, so I set up my Mac Mini to forward email to my phone, but only if it's mail from someone I know. That was easy, since Mail.app has fairly easy and straightforward filters. But how to get it to only do this when I'm not home? Perl and Launchd to the rescue!
