Hockey gold sets viewership mark
: " Among English-speaking Canadians, the CBC telecast drew an audience of 8.66 million, peaking at 10.64 million at the conclusion of the game at about 5 p.m. EST. The CBC's French-language network, Société Radio-Canada, had an audience figure of 1.6 million, peaking at 1.95 million.

Heroes Welcomed Home: " At a reception for about 90 athletes and coaches at Calgary's International Airport, Canada's chef de mission Sally Rehorick described the "magical aura" that surrounded the team in Salt Lake after the pairs figure skating debacle early in the Winter Games.
"Suddenly people were loving Canada. We were stars," she said during a brief ceremony.
Rehorick's vision for the Games -- a Canadian team that had class, sportsmanship on and off the field and would become the envy of the international sporting community -- had been met.
