Thestar.com/The spirit of Satie: "No wonder Serge Bennathan took a trip to what he calls "planet Satie." The French-born choreographer and artistic director of Dancemakers has shown a similar tendency toward the multi-disciplinary, having written and published poetry, illustrated with his own drawings.

Like Satie, he enjoys collaborating with other artists and in The Satie Project, running through Oct. 19 at the Premiere Dance Theatre, he has paired up with one of the city's most talented musicians, pianist Eve Egoyan.

Egoyan's determination to play and record Satie's short piano pieces set Bennathan on the trail of the prolific, oddball artist who left lots for a choreographer to work with."

Queen rescued from freezing river. UK latest: Royal boat breaks down on Winnipeg's Red river. [Guardian Unlimited]

Whoops. Sounds far more scandalous when reading about it in the Gaurdian. That would be 'Red River' guys, not Red river.
