Elections are a brutal business. Regardless of what political party we're talking about, it's always hard to watch the angst that co-workers feel in the days immediately after an election. I saw it two years ago when the NDP were ousted, and again today, as dozens of Liberal political staff are cleaning out their desks and starting to consider their futures. In both instances, most of them were/are good people, despite what the general public might think. They're just ordinary people who have families and who are doing the best job they can. It's one of the sad realities of the party system.
