In an interview this week, Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien defended keeping troops out of Iraq, pushing for gay marriage and liberalizing drug laws. [New York Times: NYT HomePage] I enjoyed reading this. It lays out pretty clearly some of the differences between Canucks and US Americans. Chrétien wasn't the greatest leader but he had brilliant instincts and reflected the values of Canadians well . . . particularly near the end of his time in office when he had little to lose.
