U2's frontman was an unconventional guest speaker at the party's leadership convention, lauding Canada's history of foreign aid but adding that it must do much more.

"I'm a fan of Canada," Bono told the cheering crowd.

"I believe the world needs more Canada."

Quebecer wins Cy Young Award  < 1:20:39 AM>.

Quebecer Eric Gagné is the first Canadian in 32 years to win the National League Cy Young Award after the Los Angeles Dodgers closer was the overwhelming choice in first-place voting by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Ferguson Jenkins was the first Canadian to win the award. The native of Chatham, Ont., was named Cy Young in 1971 after a 24-13 season with the Chicago Cubs.

A Canuck playing for a US team in the National league and a US American playing for a Canuck team in the American league. Nice!
