That was close. Olivia, when we realized the vote was on, said "Oh I have to watch this. I'm learning about government." We watched on tv although I missed the moment of drama (the vote of the independent) my a moment. The vote was 152 to 152 with the speaker breaking the tie and voting with the government, as is the tradition. Olivia noted the numbers and said "But there are 308 MPs!" Hmmm. I have to look into that. There's a by-election next week apparently so that accounts for one of them. Cait called shortly after the vote with her analysis of the situation. My girls are engaged in this stuff!

Oh dear. Poor Peter. (I'm not being sarcastic) Jilted lover's story all over the front page. The coverage in the Globe today was, I thought, over the top.


Canadian discount airline adds live TV < 12:45:54 AM>.

WestJet, Bell ExpressVu and LiveTV just announced that all 39 of WestJet's Boeing Next-Generation 737-700 aircraft are now equipped with live satellite television.
WestJet is the first and only airline in Canada to offer an in-flight TV service that can be individually controlled by each guest from their own seat. WestJet's complimentary satellite TV service offers a selection of up to 24 television channels from Bell ExpressVu in every seatback on all of WestJet's 737-700 aircraft, including news, sports, music, children's and
leisure programming.

Hmmm. Satellite radio anyone? They are offering just a selection of their main service. They should include some of what Galaxie has to offer.
