It looks like we may have rotating attendance in the is class. Last we Masaoki was here, but today he was absent and Tomo and Mustumi were here. We watched the second episode of the video because Tomo and Mutusmi missed it last week. I think this video is just about the right level of difficulty. It will give you good listening practice and a good grammar review.
The homework is to do the listening practice on page 98 and number 3 on page 31. You might look around the web and see what kind of advice you can find for visiting Japan.

Mieko did a day trip to Ikeda on the weekend. She doesn't drive so she took the train. It is only 800 yen round trip, so if you take the train you can enjoy the wine. She said there were free samples of wine. She had lunch in the restaurant and then came back to Obihiro. Yukari went out for a drive, but the autumn colors were pretty much over.
The homework is same as for the morning class.

Kiyomi was back today and it sounds like her trip to Norway was really good. They went to an island off the northern coast above the Article Circle. She was able to see the northern lights three nights in a row.
This morning we a had a special guest and you had about 10 minutes to ask him questions. If you come to English Expo this weekend you will have a chance to meet him again. We did an an speaking exercise where you asked your partners about shopping. People were pretty lucky and haven't had a any bad experiences with shopping.
