We started Unit 8 today and at the end of class we looked at signs. This link will take you to a site about international signs. Take a look and see how many are similar to ones in Japan.

We started a new unit today and listened to the interview with Roberta Hill Whiteman. It was a difficult one, but we will listen to it several more times before we finish this unit.
In preparing for the listening we discussed which parent we thought had the most influence on us. Two people said their fathers and three said their mothers. It is hard to answer this question and for me I would have to stay my father because he had the biggest impact on the way I think and solve problems. There isn't really anything I can point to, but I think it came fro the example he set.
Good luck with the homework. I know it is difficult, but I am looking forward to the kind of poems you find.

Sorry I didn"t have a chance to write something last night.I was surprised that people didn't remember more about the last episode of the video. Now that we aren't doing the news at the beginning of class we will be able to spend some more time on the video.
Spent a little more time on checking the homework than I had planned. Remember the reason I give the homework is because I think it is something that will take more time and is better done at home. If you do it home then we will have more time for discussion.
