Well, this class had the widest range of ages of any of the Step 2 classes, so it made for some interesting some comments during the warm up exercise for Unit 9. We talked a little about careers at the end of class because Saeko is getting ready to embark on one after graduating from high school.

We continued talking about electronic gadgets today. Mikiko mentioned that she could get along without a car and Ryoko was shocked and even asked her twice to make sure she understood her correctly. Masako mentioned that her car was one modern convenience she couldn't live without. If we didn't have cars think about how different our cities would look and what kinds of transportation we would have. I mentioned that you can buy the Segway now. It will be interesting to see how the use of this machine will develop. In someways I think it would be perfect for Obihiro now that we have the wide bike paths that connect both sides of the city. Maybe Obihiro should volunteer to be a test city in Japan.
Another thing people mentioned was the bowlingual. I had seen a little about it on TV, but this link will give information in English.
