3E

In this clas we have an interesting situation. There are two students, Masaoki and Mutsumi, who work in the same hospital and workout at the same health club, but met for the first time at JOY in this class. They both have studied at JOY for over two years. It is amazing that it took them so long to meet. It seems in Obihiro you are always running into someone who you know or have some connection to because of school, work or family.

We started the unit on health today and at the end of the class I mentioned the Atkin's Diet. People didn't seem to know too much about it, but is seems to be very popular in the States.

The homework for next week is to find out the difference between games and sports. I mentioned if anyone played the sport of bowling and people thought it was a game not a sport. What do you think?

As I said in the previous post the answers to the homework for the two classes were very similar.

In talking about our weekends Yukari, show only moved here in the spring from Sapporo, mentioned how cold Monday morning was. She was surprised because it is not that cold in Sapporo. I think she will be really surprised in January.

The homework for last week was to make a list of five worries you have for the future. Many people had the same ones in both the classes. People were worried about their health, families, money or jobs. I think if you asked the same question to people in other countries you would probably get similar answers.

In the grammar practice we worked with gerunds and the homework next week is to write 5 sentences about things you strongly believe. Look at the examples in the book. Also fill in the information for the pair work on the next page.
