3A

We had a two visitors tonight; Maiko and Kosaku. This class has gotten progressively bigger as the semester has worn on. If these two join us we will be up to ten.

We talked about a few more electronic gadgets this week and I was surprised that there so few things people wanted. Most everyone had a cell phone, but of the other 5 items on the list didn't seem to interest people too much. Part of the winter vacation homework is to do page 99 and to explain how to use a self-service gas station and for the non-drivers, how to send e-mail using a cell phone. Also read one story from the magazine I gave you.

At the end of class we watched the video about Kawanza and for many people it was the first time they had heard of it. I mentioned other winter festivals or religious days, but people hadn't heard of them either. If you go to these links you can find out more about them. Winter Solstice, Diwali and Chanukah.
