We got two new students this evening. Akiyo will be with us until the end February when she will go to London. Satoe is a high school student who has already been accepted to college, so she decided to take a conversation class.
We talked about stress and some of the stressful things in life. Next week we will talk more about ways to cope with stress. The homework (something stressful) is to do the listening practice on page100 using the CD that came with your book.

People were a little rusty today after the three week break. Usually this class is very good about not speaking Japanese, but today there was quite a few Japanese words flying around.
This class also discussed what Laura should do and 100% said she should dump Jordan and take the job in New York.
The people in this class had a good time after the Christmas party becasue they went to Kiriko's bar. They said it is a very nice place and Kiriko is a very good singer. I will try to go next time. Yukari and Nobuharu are the only ones who did something special over the holidays. Yukari went to Tokyo because she got a speical ticket. She visited her aunt and brought back some sweets. Nobuharu went to Lake Akan with some friends.
The homework is the vocabulary exercise on page 77 and check the spelling of the jobs you wrote down in the warm up practice.

Some very interesting ideas in the class in the letters you wrote to yourselves 20 years from now. All them were very positive and looking forward to having very nice lives in the next 20 years.
We started Unit 10 and the listening exercise was fun. At then end I checked to see what people thought Laura should do. Should she take the job in New York or stay with Jordan? It was basically 50-50 except Kyoyomi quickly and stronly said Laura should dump Jordan.
The homework for next week is to look at the vocabulary and match the jobs with the advantages and disadvantages. Also go back to the warm up exercise at the beginning of the unit and check the spelling of the different jobs that you came up with your partner. Please add a comment 10:32:10 AM
