In this class only Karou was a winner in the attendance lottery, but she also won a prize in the JOY Big Five news contest. She seems to be a very lucky lady.
Congratulations to Masato! He got married over the holidays. They had the wedding on an island in Fiji. The pictures he brought were beautiful.
Speaking of Fiji, Yukari will be going there on Saturday. She asked Masato a lot of questions after class. I reminded her to send an English postcard while she is there.
The homework for next week is the Read and Respond section on page 80. Do exercises number 1 and 2.

Hiroko brought some pictures from her trip to Kyoto and one of them was with the members of the orchestra. In checking the homework we learned that Hideko will be going to Kyushu tomorrow to visit a hot spring resort with her husband. It sounds like it's going to be a nice trip.
Everyone did a good job speaking only English in the activity and they were able to answer most of the questions.
The homework next week is to do number 1 and 2 on page 80. Hopefully, Hideko will also send a postcard from her trip.

We checked the homework on two-word verbs and if you would like a little more practice this site has an activity you can do. It is even related to the topic of this unit; dating.
We listened to the tape serval more times trying to catch what people said to describe themselves. The homework for next week is to think of the characteristics you look for in a friend.
