I would like to congratulate all of you on how little Japanese you spoke in class tonight. The last two weeks there was a lot of Japanese spoken in class. Tonight I challenged you not to speak any Japanese and you almost did it. I only heard Japanese two times tonight. That is excellent!

We continued to practice giving opinions and we heard more opinions about TV. If you look at the Wednesday afternoon class you will find some links to some ideas about giving up TV.

The homework is to write five sentences. Follow the examples in the book and also write down the names of Japanese TV shows for the different categories.

Ryoko was back, but Kumiko is taking a few weeks off. Haruko was here again doing a make up for the class she missed on Monday. She said her curling team took a silver medal in the tournament in Kushiro.

We checked the homework and then moved on to the unit about volcanoes. There were a lot of new words for people and a few of them were technical terms related to volcanoes. Some of the others can be used in different situations. If you are interested in volcanoes there are lot of sites on the web.

The homework for next week is to do the listening activities on page 101.
