We started the unit on the news and in the first activity there was a picture of a dog sled and I mentioned that the Iditarodwould be starting soon in Alaska. There are a lot of sites about the race, but this one is the official one.

I remembered to ask you how many hours a day you watch TV. The numbers ranged from a high of 6 hours to a low of 2 hours. This sitegives the number for the U.S. per week. See if you can find the numbers for Japan or even better and international comparison.

We continued talking about people's opinions of T.V. Some partners agreed others had very different answers. I forgot to ask in class today, but how much T.V. do you watch a day. I think I may watch about an hour sometimes an hour and a half. How about you? You can post your answer in the comments.
