Only Kenji tonight, but we had an interesting talk covering many different topics. Next week we will continue the Unit, so make sure to review the reading and check the links I posted last week. Please add a comment 3:20:10 PM

Quite a few people absent tonight. That sometimes happens when there is a holiday the previous week. People's routine gets upset and they forget they have class. Yukari did send an e-mail to Mayu (in the class on her cell phone) that she had the flu and couldn't come.
We talked about the first time people did different things. There were some interesting conversations. In this class tonight there wasn't a very large gap in ages, but when you get 20 or 30 years differences in age then the activity is even more interesting.
We didn't have a chance to check last week's homework so we will use the exercise next week. The homework for next week is to write five sentences for the activity on page 84. Be careful with the count and non-count nouns. Please add a comment 1:23:37 PM

It is unusual to have both Makiko and Mitsue gone the same day. The last time the were both absent at the same time they were on trip together. I wonder if they went somewhere this time. Yoichi joined us today and will be coming to this class until the end of March.
We focused on idioms today. The ones in the book were pretty easy to understand, but the ones people brought in were more difficult. Idioms can be fun to learn and the images they create are sometimes very interesting.
The homework for next week is to look over the role playing section. I mentioned living wills at the end of the class and we will talk more about them next week. Please add a comment 1:17:20 PM
