Satoe was the only student who was here last week, so she had to share the homework with everyone. She did a very good job. If you were absent and would like to send me by e-mail please do.

We did the listening exercises and they were pretty difficult. Next week there is no homework and we will start 11B.

There was good news today. Nobuharu passed his test so he will be going to school in Sunagawa in April. I would like to wish him luck in this new stage in his life. Kiriko left for Vietnam on Sunday, so I am sure we will have a postcard by next class.

We also talked about memories in class which reminded me up the Barbara Streisand song The Way We Were. This started a talk about the word nostalgia and how to use it correctly. The Longman Learner's Dictionary used this example sentence. The old song filled me with nostalgia. The other sentence you can use is That brings back memories.

The homework is to do the vocabulary exercise on page 89.

People are traveling in this class. Takiko is leaving for Guam for her son's wedding. Nobuko is going to Italy on the weekend and will miss two classes.

We talked about heirlooms and people shared information about ones they had in their homes. There were some hanging scrolls, hina doll sets, kimonos and other items.
