Yuko came from the Thursday Step 5 so we had two people tonight. Kenji couldn't make it because he had to work. We listened to the tape and did several of the comprehension exercises. We also talked about living wills. If you go to February 4 you will find links to more information. Miho is going to check on the status of living wills in Japan. The homework for next week is the reading on page 163.
At the beginning of the class we talked the old saying about March and I mentioned The Old Farmer's Almanac. This is an interesting site; especially if you like gardening. Please add a comment 6:45:19 PM

Ayami and Yukari both had good weekends. Yukari was in Sapporo and Ayami's lab had a graduation trip to Lake Akan for the seniors. Katsushi was studying because his big exam is next Wednesday. I am sure he will do fine.]
In the pair practice Yukari had a good answer to question about the important thing borrowed from Japan. She thought it was soy sauce.
There were some interesting answers for the pair practice. People had some very different ideas from their partners. The homework for next week is to make list of ten things you would use to introduce Japanese culture to people in another country. Please add a comment 6:32:23 PM

We finished up the unit about dying and talked about the role play situation. On the whole everyone agreed to support Miriam's position, but thought she should think harder about it. We also continued to talk about living wills and if you go to February 4 Step 5 posting you will find several links.
