3E

Tonight was Tomo's last night. She will be having her baby in a few months and wants to relax a little after work. She hopes to come back and study when the baby is a little older.

We started 11B tonight. There isn't any homework and will start 2A next week.

Kiriko had a good time in Vietnam and Cambodia. She said she used English everyday, but had trouble one time. She couldn't order milk. Her pronunciation wasn't quite right. That is the trouble with katakana and why I don't like people to use it in their books. Yukari and Yoshie went to Sapporo on the weekend like I did. Yoshie even went to a jazz club. I did too, but it was a different one. Satomi was sick on the weekend, but she still had to work. She has a tough work schedule.

We had a good time doing the vocabulary exercise and the practice conversation. Mieko made a good point about the conversation. She said if you wanted to keep your age a secret you couldn't answer the question the same way as in the book. This is true. If you said how many years ago you did something and the the age you were at the time someone could quickly figure out our age.

The homework is to find an old Japanese saying about the weather.

Takiko had a good time in Guam and here son's wedding was very beautiful. Nobuko is still in Italy and I expect to get a postcard sometime this week. Kiyomi continued here search for the perfect sofa. She said she has been looking for three years, but her and her husband can't agree on the one to buy. Kimiyo also did some shopping on the weekend. She bought ski wear, but didn't get a ski set. She may get the ski equipment next season.

The homework for next week is to find an old Japanese saying about the weather. Make sure you put it into English.
