Satoe sent a postcard from here trip to Tokyo. She enjoyed Disney Sea and Disneyland. She had one day of rain and one day of sunshine. Mai was in Osaka visiting her family, but it snowed while she was there. She was hoping to get away from snow for awhile.
We started the unit on friendship and there were a lot of good vocabulary words in the beginning of the unit. People had a little bit of trouble with the listening exercise, but the homework is to listen to it again at home. We talked about the movie When Harry Met Sally. If you have time, try to watch it over the weekend. Also write a short paragraph about how you met your best friend and what you like about him or her. Most everyone had a quiet weekend. Keizo was working on a wood carving, Kikriko finished up her taxes, Meiko went to The Pianist, and Yukari's parents were in Obihiro.
At end of class I asked people to try to remember three unusual or surprising things they learned in this class. People thought it was difficult. Nobuko was back from Italy and she had a good time, but was a little disappointed with Venice. She sent a postcard from Rome, but it hasn't gotten here yet. Mariko was in Hawaii a few weeks ago with her hula class. She loved it and didn't want to come home.
