5E

We read Clinton's second inaugural addresses and I mentioned that there were several other famous ones. I found this site which has all of them. I would recommend reading Lincoln's and pay special attention to the last paragraph. Also FDR's first one because it was at the time of the Depression and JFK's because there are several famous lines. Finally thisEisenhower's farewell speech in which he warned of the Military-Industrial Complex. Some of them are long and a little difficult, but in looking over them see if there are and similarities.

The homework for next week is to look over the comprehension questions and do the vocabulary exercise. We will start the money unit next week.

Hiroko and Tomoko joined us today, so we had eight people. We continued practicing meeting people and using wh and How questions.

People didn't do anything specail on Green Day. Ritsuko did say that her son went to his girlfriend's parents to ask for her hand in marriage. The answer must have been yes because the wedding will be sometime this fall. Mai had a friend visiting from Hyogo prefecture and Kazumi did some volunteer work at her children's school.

The homework for next is to remember to send me a postcard about your Golden Week holiday. Mai and Akiko brought theirs today, so they are done.
