Yoko has moved to Friday night's Step 2 class because of her work schedule. She will still be taking the late Reading and Writing class on Thursday, so we will still get to see her. She stopped by tonight and said she really enjoyed her new job. If you like fishing stop by her shop.
We continued talking about emotions and feelings in the class. We did one activity at the end and people did a very good job. There is a little misunderstanding about difference between the words embarrassed and ashamed. If you look over the definitions in an English/English dictionary I think you will see the difference more clearly than using an English/Japanese one.
We continued talking about jobs and we combined the two conversations to make a more natural one.
People found the three most popular companies that people want to work for in Japan. This list is a little different because it the best companies to work based on what the employees have to say. We also talked about the future of Japan's economy. Most people weren't very optimistic and no one was willing to guess when the economy would turn around. Here is an interesting listening exercise about the Japanese economy. It is difficult, but give it a try. You will have to download a file to your computer and you will need to have RealAudio on your computer. It might play with the WindowsMediaPlayer.
The homework for next week is to do the reading on page 22. Please add a comment 5:00:53 PM
