We finished up the unit on couples, but couldn't watch the video like I had planned. If we get the new video I will show it.
We discussed happy and unhappy couples. We also talked about marriages are better today than they used to be. The opinion seemed to be that married couples are happier today because they had a choice about getting married. They could choose their own partner and choose whether or not to get married. It is interesting that people thought that way because the divorce rate continues to increase every year.
We talked about likes and dislikes today, but I think there was a misunderstanding about what I wrote on the board. I will write it here to see if I can make it clearer.
A. I like sushi.
B. Me, too.
A. I like sushi.
B. I don't.
A. I don't like sushi.
B. Me either.
A. I don't like sushi.
B. I do.
You can also say I do, too. instead of Me too. and for Me either you can use I don't either.
