Only four people showed up tonight! Yoko had a meeting so she couldn't make it, but I am not sure about Mayu. Maybe she is still recovering from her school festival. In talking about weekends a few good summer words came up. For example, Mai watched the fireworks in Shikaoi. Kaoriko bought a a new yukata and Keiko asked if she could put it on herself. Using the put it on is correct, but I often hear students say, I can't wear a kimono by myself. This is incorrect.
We did an activity using the picture you drew. Your partner had to draw their own picture following your directions. Some did very well, while others weren't even close. Mayu and Keiko tried two times. In talking about people's rooms I asked if their rooms were clean or messy and everyone said messy. The homework for next week is to clean up your room and remember where you put things. For example, I put my CDs on my desk, or I put my books in the bookcase. Please add a comment 10:25:00 AM

This class was busy for the long weekend. Mikkiko and her family camped at the foot of Mt. Yotei in Niseko. Taikiko went to Sapporo and her husband bought her a new skirt. Kimiko used the new expressway to drive to Ashoro and by chance were able to see the Ashoro High School festival. They also went to Kyokawa to have jingisukan. Ikuko finished up her wallpapering job and visited a friend. Only poor Yoshie had to work. She said she had very busy weekend and was so tired that she almost didn't come to class today. Mika was the only person absent today. I wonder if she had another toothache.
I had a good weekend. On Saturday night one of JOY's teachers got married, so I went to the wedding. Afterwards a bunch of people went to Tokachi Beer Factory and finally ended the night with ramen at the yatai. On Sunday after lunch my wife and drove to a friend's house in Nikkapu. We had wonderful dinner and conversation. We had a leisurely morning on Monday and then came back to Obihiro after lunch. The weather was beautiful in the Hidaka area, but when we got to the top of Nishho Pass it was very foggy. On the Obihiro side of the mountains it was cloudy and cool.
