It was nice to have Yuka and Kaori back tonight. Kaori's daughter has been sick so she was very busy. Noriko was also back after being a tour guide for her friends from Chiba.
Tonight just as we were getting ready to start the class Mariko said she wondered if Noriko was going to come. As she finished saying that Noriko walked into the room. I then said speak of the devil, but no one knew what it meant. You use this when you have just been talking about someone and they show up. It comes from the idea that if you talk about the devil he will come.
The homework for next week has two parts. Part one for the people who were here tonight is to use the information the got from their partner and write ten sentences. Part two is to do the writing exercises on page 93. Please add a comment 9:01:43 PM

Atsuko, sorry that I forgot to put up the homework last week. This week's was easier than some we have had. The homework for next week will make up for it. Good luck with writing about the sports star.
The listening activity focused on inferring and that can be one of the more difficult listening and reading skills. People did okay with the speakers' opinions, but not with the information about the country. Please add a comment 4:00:42 PM

Wow, a small turnout today! Hizaji, Suiko and Mitsuyuki were absent and they hardly ever miss. Some of the people who were absent have elementary school aged children, so they had find someone to babysit or stay home.
The homework exercise went well even though there were some people whose partner did show up. I think people were getting an idea how to use go shopping, go to shop, or going to go shopping.
In the lesson today we practiced making excuses why we couldn't do something. People did a good job using, Let me think. Do I have anything...?.
There is no homework for next week, but don't worry I am thinking of some special summer vacation homework. Please add a comment 3:43:10 PM
