Only Masami tonight! We had a fun discussion. She asked me why I came to Japan which requires a long explanation. I think I will try to write it up and post it here. I think there are other people who might want to hear how I ended up in Obihiro.

At the end of class we even brought the topic back to the lesson. We talked about life in small farming communities like Kamiobihiro (where I live) and Kiyokawa (where Masami works).

There is no homework next week. We will start the unit on language.

Akiko is in Hawaii today and I misunderstood Juniichi because I thought he said he would be absent today, too, but he was here. We continued practicing giving directions, but it took people awhile to use gestures when they were explaining the way to go. In guessing the the different locations downtown Juniichi did the best.

The homework is to do the Ensemble and find out the name of the sculpture on the north side of the station.
