5E

I had a bit of shock today. I was only expecting a couple of people but almost everyone showed up. Yuko was back which was nice because we hadn't seen her since May. She was really busy with her job for the last three or four months. It sounds like she will be able to come regularly next semester.

We watched the video about Ebonics and did the reading. There were some interesting points on how Japanese dialects have been able to coexist with standard Japanese. Many people felt that kids should be taught the dialects so that they won't die out.

The homework for next time is page 122 to126.

I hope you had a good lunch. Sorry I couldn't attend, but yesterday was a busy day. I usually have my Otani College class on Monday, but had to do a make up class yesterday.

Some interesting things came up in the Ensemble exercise. People have had some very interesting experiences. Too bad Mai wasn't here today (even though she showed up for lunch) because I am sure she would have had some funny stories.

Today was our last class and I hope that many of you will come to the events planned for the next two weeks. If you can't come, I will see you next semester. Juniichi have a good time in England and remember to send a postcard!
