Mikiko welcome to the class even though you won't be able to read this until next week. She said she was going to get hooked up to the internet next week. Keiko doesn't have a computer, but she may try to look at this site using her cell phone.

We started talking about occupations tonight and by chance Keiko's homework last week was to figure out how to explain her father's occupation in English. She did a good job. Talking about occupations this link is to a survey for Japanese children about what they want to be when they grow up.

No homework for next week. We will start the conversation.

Only two people today. Takiko and Ikuko. Ikuko's daughter is back from the States, so she is very busy. Takiko didn't say why she couldn't make it today, but she was surprised when I spoke to her in English on the phone. Mikiko is going to take a break this semester because is going to be busy with her neighborhood association. She may come back in the spring.

Mika and Kimiko both had done the homework, so we checked it at the beginning of the class. We started Unit 7 but only did the Get Ready part. It was interesting doing the exercise at the end of the page. We had time so I even took part. Next week will do the listening on page 67. There is no homework.
