We checked the homework we were supposed to do last week. Naoko could have an week off, but Atsuko needed to do it. We also took a look at the Vocabulary in Detail. It had many examples of the noises that animals make. This link will take you to many more.
I got a long e-mail from Hiroko (she was in Step 4 last year). She is in Halifax, Canada now. I gave Atsuko and Naoko a quiz. What do Halifax and Hokkaido have in common? Atsuko's answer was that they are on the same latitude, but actually Halifax is just about the same as Wakkanai. The thing they have in common is Fort Goryokaku and the Halifax Citadel , but I was wrong because there are 10 cities with similar forts. They even had a summit in 1997 in Hakodate.
