Yoko, Mariko and Noriko joined us tonight, so now everyone has been to class at least once. Miho mentioned that she had read Noriko's comment in last week's posting, but didn't leave a comment herself. Remember to visit the site and leave a message. Using the comment section is a great way to practice your English!
The homework for next week is to do the Solo exercise and the writing exercises on page 88. Also listen to the CD and see if you can catch what Joshua likes to have on his pizza. Please add a comment 9:06:18 PM

We discussed the items in the Think About It section and went on to the Speaking part. The speaking focus was on hesitation and its role in holding your turn in a discussion. In practicing we used the topic of the benefits of singing, art, playing musical instruments and drama for elementary school children. We all seemed to agree there were many benefits for kids, but I mentioned that in the States those subjects are often the first cut when there are budget problems.
On the bottom of the page there was information about the world record for continous dancing. I mentioned the dance marathons. Here is a link with more information. Please add a comment 1:56:33 PM

We had a twenty people today which was almost the whole class. We have twenty-two people in the role book. In the warm up exercise people did a good job in staying English. I hope you can do that every week. Remember next week try to sit by someone you have met yet.
We continued talking about and practicing ordinal numbers. Here is an exercise you do to practice some more. The homework for next week is to think about what you do for the many Japanese holidays. Here is an English list. Also do the handout I gave you. Please add a comment 1:54:12 PM
