Zenta called before class to say he had a business trip to Sapporo, so he had to miss class. He will also have to go to Kitami next week, so he will be doing some make up classes. Miyuki was back tonight. She has been very busy. It was good she was here toinght because we talked about basketball-- her favorite sport. Of course, we talked about women's basketball.

The women's game is getting more popular and know some people find it more exciting the men's because it is less physical. There is less pushing and shoving and a lot more movement. I have never seen a women's pro game, but I would like to someday. From the leagues website it looks like they are still going strong.

Recently people have been slipping into Japanese more and more, so I started keeping track how often I heard Japanese. There were over 25 times today! And many times it was for things that you could easily say in English! Next week I will keep track again and see if you can do a better job.

We finished up the Solo exercise and started Unit 9. In this unit we will be talking about the future. In the warm up part we talked about plans for winter vacation and no one is doing anything special. I didn't tell you that I am going to Alaska this winter vacation. I hope that I can see the northern lights.

The homework for next week is to listen to the listening activity again and see how much more you can catch. Also listen to the About You section and answer the questions.
