Tonight's article was about spam and it used some other new, but common internet words. This link is a list abbreviations used in chat room or text messages. This articlegives even more and I think it is an interesting look at the new slang that has developed around the web.

Oops! I forgot the link for snopes.com. This is a good place to find out if something you have seen on the net or in an e-mail is true.

Some of you who were absent last week didn't get to see this. A picture named 040110_2254~01.jpg A picture named 040110_2256~01.jpg

I was surprised by the turn out today. I really expected fewer people because of the snow. Only Mineko couldn't make it, but she does have to drive all the way from Sarabetsu.

Several people had New Year's parties over the weekend and Akiko's must have been very good because she had a hangover on Monday. Kumiko also had a party and went to Rokkatei with a friend. She hasn't used the gift certificates she won for the Hokkaido Hotel yet, but she plans on going to dinner with her husband.

This class has a lot of homework for next week. First do the Language Check on page 95, then do the Challenge on page 94 and finally practice flipping a coin. No one was able to do it very well when we did the game.
