We had a full house tonight. The only person missing was Kaoru. We continued giving opinions on different subjects and there were some very interesting discussions.

We also started Unit 12 and did the Get Ready section. We will start with the Listening section next week. The homework is to do the Language Check.

I mentioned the saying:If March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb and if it comes like a lamb it go out like a lion.According to the weather forecast it is going to come in like a lion. If you want some extra homework go to this link.

I expected fewer people today because of the snow we had this morning. It was nice that the snow stopped around 9:30. I was afraid we were going to get another 30 or 40 centimeters of snow.

We finished up Unit 12 and in checking the homework Ikumi used a word a I didn't know. In trying to describe the Japanese custom of otoshidama she used the word handsel. When I checked in the dictionary I found that it was used in Britain, so I asked Hans and Alison if they used it in Australia. They had never heard of it either. I will try to remember to ask an Irish friend if he uses it.

The homework for next week is to do the Focus In section on page 122.
