No More Ringing in Your Ears. If it's popular in Korea, you know it will wind up here. Your calls to a cell phone may never be the same, thanks to ring-back tones, which play music instead of bells when you connect. By Elizabeth Biddlecombe. [Wired News] //  Interesting idea though when I read this at first I thought I'd be hearing these instead of ring tone on my end rather you would hear what the person you are calling has created.

Might be useful to stop the annoying spam calls too.  Like if you see "unknown caller" play metallica and see if yoiu can scare them away.  Very gimicky but I think it will catch on.  Why not have ads play until you pick up the phone ? maybe we could sell ring tone time on our home phones ??
