There are msxml*.dll files located in your C:WINNTSystem32 folder that will tell you which version of the XML Parser is already installed on the Client workstation. For instance, I have version 3.0 SP2 on my computer, and I have the following files (among others) msxml3.dll msxml3a.dll msxml3r.dll If you right click on one of them and choose "version", it will say 8.20.8730.1, which means you have version 3.0 SP2 installed.
