Payphones as WiFi
Payphones: The Next Hotspot Wave?. This is cool. Imagine if every pay telephone was a WiFi access point. What a terrific re-use of the existing infrastructure. With the explosion of cell phones, pay phones are a dying breed, yet there's all that copper already in place, and physical locations already established. [Blogarithms] [Scott Mace's Radio Weblog]
This would be cool because most payphones are broken anyway.
