Blog Editing
Recently Don Park made the prediction that blogs would go away in a few years and become just websites. Someone else mentioned that had already happened, they are just websites. Given that a blog is just a web site, certainly I am allowed to edit it as I please. Name a web site that doesn't change. There is some good stuff at burningbird about editing and it deserves a read. In a world where we edit Movies, TV shows, etc before they are rerun because the initial publication offened someone how are website different?
The real issue seems to be people calling people names (or just lying) in a public place. It must be OK because I can see this every election (or any night if I watch FOX News). The solution to this lies outside the blogging community.

The Cognitive Style of PowerPoint by. One of my communication heroes, Edward Tufte, just wrote an essay on the slideware paradigm's limits.
Alas, slideware often reduces the analytical quality of presentations. In particular, the popular PowerPoint templates (ready-made designs) usually weaken verbal and spatial reasoning, and almost always corrupt statistical analysis. What is the problem with PowerPoint? And how can we improve our presentations? $7 as a 24 page color booklet. I hope it sells millions. Thanks to another of my heroes, Jason Kottke, for the lead.
