I was so excited by my Marty sighting yesterday that I completely forgot to tell you about this Alzheimer’s patient I transported. This lady was great. She is in an excellent stage of that terrible disease I don’t know the clinical term but I call it Happy Time. There is absolutely nothing that doesn’t make her day and I have to say that she brought me up a couple of notches. So were talking about whatever lucid memories cross her path when she proceeds to break wind in the middle of a story about her childhood. I was momentarily caught in that awkward stare straight ahead and pretend nothing happened mode when she let another one rip and proceeded to crack up. As I’m rolling the windows down I start laughing and the force of her increased merriment causes some more ass music. So she forgets what she was telling me and starts asking me questions but my head is out the window and I’m trying not to breathe from my nose so I’m not answering. The light bulb above her head goes on and she realizes why I’m driving like that which really cracks her up. By the time we get to her house my stomach hurts from laughing and the random dry heaves and I walked her into her house. The van smelled like a zoo gone bad but I was completely cheered up by an 80 year old that found immense pleasure in her own flatulence.
