I am alive. The fact that I am learning a brand new industry and my current nomad status has left me without internet access is hindering the stupidtom updates. I’m typing this in my hotel room but the connection charge here is something stupid like ten dollars for fifteen minutes so checking email isn’t even worth the effort. If you have been trying to get in touch with me, just give me some time to secure a more permanent home. I will see the city of Tucson for the first time on Tuesday and I am excited.
This separation from my family is harder than I thought it would be. I keep waking up once an hour listening for the child that woke me up and it’s just me and the hotel room. Then when I do finally drift off for good, the alarm wakes me up and it takes a minute to figure out exactly where I am. People that travel constantly have my admiration because I’m just not made for it.
I’ll be posting this from the office tomorrow before we leave. I need to hook up and burst transfer for all of forty-five seconds so I don’t think it should be a problem. Everything is going pretty well so far but I have a lot to learn. This is the best decision I have mad in a long time. I’ll write a real update when I have some true online time. I know most of you are buried under snow right now but I have been freezing my ass of out here in the desert.
