Kitchen - Color Tricks:  Here are two spots painted on the wall at the same time, with the same brush, and from the same can of paint. It is mid-day, no flash, and all of the electric lights are off. On the close wall, the dusty purple has some life with an almost reddish tone. Over by the fridge, it appears to be muddy and dark, not fun at all. The windows here face north with lots of green tree leaves outside. The close wall is facing the front door which has small windows and has the cream colored ceiling of the porch in view. No obvious reason for the large difference in appearance.
We decided to look more at the yellows .. colors we might actually like in several hews.
