Do it once, do it right:

So said the people that sold us the floor covering. The flooring subcontractor on our job said that he had experience with Marmolium ... I am pretty sure he will before we get done with this.

You can see the lump that has formed in the middle of the floor. It is really quite impressive. It turns out that the manufacturer recommends leaving a full one eigth inch gap on each side. The material, being a "natural product like wood", expands that much when adsorbing moisture. They don't stress that real much in the showroom. We are not sure what the solution will be. By releasing the edges, it is possible that the material will lay down. I do not expect it to, however.

Fourth of July - House Project Continues:

Now we are painting ... seems like most of the time is spent testing and trying to decide on the color scheme. I do not entirely approve of the dark blue, but the theory is that, by virtue of being dark, it will make the wall seem further away. In this small house, that is a real consideration.
