A Fairly Unbalanced Account of my homebuilt airplane ... the RV9a from Van's Aircraft.

I got the landing gear legs out in preparation for fitting them to the mounting socket. While doing this I came accross the notice from Van's stating that the wrong legs had been sent to some customers. The difference seems to be in the angle of the bend for the axles.

I cut the holes in the fuselage floor for landing gear. After several tries, the holes were big enough to allow the weldments to settle into position. They will be attached to the main spare and a re-enforcing plate on the side wall by several bolts. I hope they are there to stay ... it only took a little force to slip them past the platenuts on the main spar flange going in. Actually they kind of snapped in and finding the right angle to get them back out has proven elusive.

Here is the socket opening on the bottom of the fuselage.
