A new development snapshot of Chicken Scheme has been released. See the news item dated 2003-06-02 for details. I'll upload my latest changes to the OpenGL wrapper once I've confirmed things work fine with this version. There have been a few changes in the wrapper and along with scheduling improvements in the latest Chicken Scheme, CPU usage is dramatically reduced.

Steve Dekorte has released a new version of the Io Programming language. This version rewrites the way 'primitives' work. Primitives are the core language objects that are written in C. Previously they behaved differently to standard prototype objects but in this release they work exactly like normal objects. So the restrictions on not being able to add slots to built in objects like String are now gone and Io is much more dynamic as a result.

BIT: A Very Compact Scheme System for Embedded Applications. This paper describes an implementation of Scheme for a microcontroller that is very compact and includes a real-time garbage collector. According to the abstract, executables that include the whole library can be as little as 22KB.
