I just tried using the Noka MIDP software. It works great. The midlets from Spruce Technologies work fine. I tested Spruce Invaders and Spruce Chess. I also tried Mercury Instant Messanger.  It allows you to use Jabber on the phone and also seems to work fine. Although there is a version of Mercury IM specifically for the Nokia 9210, I'm using the midlet because it uses a lot less memory. Memory is at a premium on the 9210.

I just noticed that Nokia have released a new version of the beta for their MIDP software for the 9210. This is the 15/3/2002 release and it's available at the Nokia Java downloads (registration required).

A voice dialing application has become aviailable for the Nokia 9210. It allows hands free dialing, activation of programs on voice command. Looks pretty neat.
