From another post on the externe Zaurus forums is how to do a full backup and restore of the Zaurus. You'll need an SD or CF disk:

  1. Poweroff the C700/C750/C760.
  2. Switch the battery switch to 'Open'.
  3. While the switch is 'Open' hold the 'd' and 'm' keys down on the keyboard.
  4. Still holding the two keys, switch the switch to 'Close'.
  5. After a few seconds you'll see a text menu.
  6. Use the arrows to navigate and go to page 3.
  7. In the menu you'll see two options for backup and restore.
  8. After confirming your choice you'll see a green progress bar.
  9. When you see the 'OK' after the three dots the backup/restore is finished.
  10. When finished use the 'Cancel' button on the keyboard to get back to the menu.
  11. Poweroff with the back button.
Don't play with the other options in the menu as one of them is a destructive flash test which will pretty much 'brick' your Zaurus and you'll have an expensive paperweight.

There is a thread on the externe.net Zaurus forums that has some great information on encoding video for the Zaurus. Following on from my details on how to encode, people have posted information on best settings to use, etc. There is also an english translation of some of the menus and dialogs in the movie player.
