Typographie "Actually, the CSS Level 2 standard allows for downloadable fonts. However, there are several impediments to simple font delivery: 1. Many fonts are not free, and there is some concern by font creators that if their fonts are distributed via the Web, they will not be properly compensated. This assumes that the font is downloaded and can be reused by the end receiver without having to pay for it. 2. Windows and Mac fonts are incompatible. You would have to include versions for both platforms. 3. Font files can be quite large and, thus, take a while to download.
