THIRD SUPERPOWER -- Michael Pate got an idea about his new URL from Andrew Orlowski's rant about blogging in The Register. Orlowski moaned that the term “Second Superpower” had been “googlewashed,” a term he continues to try to popularize. Orlowski derides the online essay, The Second Superpower Rears its Beautiful Head, by James Moore of Harvard. Since then, others such as Kevin Jones and Brian Fit have offered opinions on both sides of the debate. So from all this whinging comes "the third superpower" which I think merits regular reading.
